Rustic and Ready

Tobin has an approach to bladesmithing that focuses on forging to shape and keeping the elements simple but eye-catching and all about performance.

Bio

Tobin Nieto has 20 years experience in bladesmithing and weapons making. A student of the Neo-Tribal Metalsmiths Movement Mr. Nieto attempts to forge all his creations with just a hammer, fire, and minimal hand tools. His philosophy on forging can be best summed up as "You don't need a lot to do a lot".

Reclaimed materials have been a cornerstone of the smith's work for millennia and in this age its no different especially in 3rd world countries where the smith is still an important part of the community. Tobin takes up that mantle in his work as well as using modern steels (Specifically 80crv2 and 5160).  His extensive testing of blades sets a standard for many.
